The Sagesse Sports Club was formed in 1943. Its football club was one of the most successful teams in Lebanon. They won the Lebanese Championship several times and their domination of the league lasted many years. It wasn�t until 1992 that a basket ball team was formed; and this is due to Mr. Antoine Choueiry who bought the club and decided to form the best Basket Ball team in the Lebanon. Just as it was formed, they won the Lebanese cup as well as the Lebanese second division league. In 1994, Sagesse played at the first division for the first time and won the Lebanese championship. When Mr. Choueiry formed the club he announced that his goal is to make it the best basket ball team in Lebanon, in the Middle East and in Asia. Everyone else joked at this statement because never had a Lebanese team ever been the best in Asia. But so far Sagesse is few steps away from this dream. They won the Lebanese championship in 94,98 and they will most likely win it this year�they won the Pan Arab Clubs championship in 98 which makes them the best team in the Middle east�and in few months Sagesse will play at the Asian cup for the first time. The "Dream Team" of Ashrafieh is indeed the most promising team to win the Asian cup. GO HEKMEH!
